Driving Directions
Driving Directions for Support Vehicles and Spectators
We recognize there are other ways to get to each stop, however these directions have been
provided to maintain the safest race course for your teammates. Please follow these directions
regardless of your knowledge of Durham! Any unsafe driving will result in automatic team
disqualification.
Each team may have at most 1 support car.
Parking at Blu/Start line –
Park in the H Lot adjacent to Blu Seafood on Hillsborough Road
Any cars not used for the race should be left in this parking lot
Each team may only have 1 support vehicle during the race.
Blu Seafood to Central Campus Pool
Left out of parking lot onto Hillsborough Road
Right onto 9th Street
9th becomes Erwin
Left onto Anderson St.
RIGHT turn onto Yearby Ave -- vehicles will not be allowed into the pool parking area.
Right turn into H Lot.
Parking at the Pool
Park the car in the H Lot. The biker must take their bike from the parking lot, across Anderson
Street, down Yearby St to the bike corral in front of the pool. The biker should put on
their helmet, then go into the pool area to be tagged by their teammate.
Support vehicles should go DIRECTLY TO NOSH from the Pool. No support vehicles are
allowed at Four Square.
Central Campus Pool to Nosh
[Best practice here would be to first drop Racer 4 at Dain's and then proceed to NOSH]
Turn LEFT onto Anderson
NO RIGHT TURNS on Anderson.
[Anderson intersects with the bike route and we must minimize car traffic on
Anderson. For the bikers' safety (and to let them go faster!), turn LEFT onto Anderson, drop
Racer 4 off at Dain's, and proceed to Nosh.]
From Anderson, turn right on Erwin.
Erwin becomes 9th St.
Arrive at Dain's on 9th St.
Proceed back along 9th St. to Erwin Rd to go to NOSH.
Pass LaSalle Rd and take the next right into Erwin Place/Terrace parking lot.
Take the 2nd right into the parking lots and park towards the far end (where the bikers will finish)
Nosh to Dain’s
Go out of the Nosh parking lot the way you came in.
Turn left onto Erwin.
Erwin becomes 9th Street.
Turn left into parking lot. Park in lower lot or upper (Mill lot). Do not park in reserved spaces.
Dain’s to Farmers’ Market [NO PARKING AT DAISY CAKES]
Out of parking lot, turn right onto 9th St.
Turn left on Main St.
FOR LOT A of Farmers' Market:
Turn left on Morris St.
Turn right into Farmers’ Market parking lot.
FOR LOT B of Farmers' Market:
Turn right on Gregson St.
Turn left on Chapel Hill Rd.
Turn left on Foster St.
Turn right into Farmers' Market parking lot.
There is also street parking, but be aware that streets within a couple blocks of the Farmers'
Market are closed to car traffic.
Proceed from the Farmers’ Market parking lots to Daisy Cakes – on foot.
[Do not disrupt Farmers' Market business/customers, we are guests here.]
FROM LOT A of Farmers' Market:
Walk along the perimeter of the Farmers' Market along Roney St.
Right on W. Corporation
Left on Foster St.
Proceed to Geer St. (Daisy Cakes).
FROM LOT B of Farmers' Market:
Follow Foster St.
Proceed to Geer St. (Daisy Cakes).
