Do:

...carpool to the event, limited parking is available at the start line. Be Green!

...show up early to check in. Team check-in opens at 6:45am and closes at 7:30am. Starting at 7:00am,
the Man V Food film crew will be interviewing teams and the Bicycle Chain will perform bike checks for
racers. The race will start promptly at 8:00am.

...remember to bring all FOUR team members with your IDs to the start line. If you're under 18, you need
a parent to sign the waiver at the start line, otherwise your team won't be allowed to start the race.

...remember to wear a helmet, your team will be disqualified without one. Fit checks and bike checks will
take place at the start during check-in.

...raise money for DIG on top of your entry fee. The best prize will go to the team raising the most money.

...come to the post race banquet. Buy online in advance (doughman.org) to get your racer discount.

...hang out at the farmer's market and check out the SEEDS booth after the race. The awards ceremony
will be at 10:45am at the finish line.

...remember that all teams must provide one and only one support vehicle. All other vehicles must remain
at the starting line parking lot. Reckless driving will result in disqualification. Support vehicles should
follow the recommended driving directions.

...follow all driving and traffic flow directions. NOTE: Bicyclists will be riding with car traffic on city
roads and any racer seen not abiding by traffic rules will be disqualified, along with the rest of their team.

...be safe. Anyone demonstrating unsafe behavior will have their team disqualified - no exceptions.

Do not...

...Throw up. You will be required to clean up after yourselves and you will garner your team a 10 minute
time penalty. We are celebrating Durham, which means we must also be good stewards to our home
town. Please respect our city.

...Spit food out. As with the vomit, which is prohibited, you will have to clean it up and this will incur a
30 minute time penalty.

...Break the traffic rules. There will be police presence on the course, those found breaking traffic rules -
such as running a red light - will be disqualified.

...forget to wear a helmet - your team may not check-in without one and you therefore won't be able to
start the bike leg without one.

...bring a time trial bike or any bike with aero bars or disc wheels. The course is open to traffic and these
bikes are not allowed. Bikes will be checked during team check-in at the start line by the Bicycle Chain.
...forget to bring your ID to the starting line along with your entire team.

...break any traffic laws. Unsafe behavior and/or driving, will result in disqualification of your team - no
exceptions.

...run through the Farmers' Market. We are guests of the Farmers' Market and should behave as such.

...Throw up.
