Have you
ever thought about eating an order of bacon cheese fries and running 2 miles
only to have to eat more food?
If this sounds like a good
idea then you’ve come to the right place.
The DoughMan is the world's premier quadrathlon. Part triathlon (bike, run, swim/water event), part competitive eating
event. The race will be a team relay with each member eating at a quintessential Durham eatery followed by an athletic
portion (run, bike or water event). It culminates with the final "team" leg where the entire team meets for the final dessert
followed by a group dash to the finish line -- located at the Durham Farmer's Market.
The Doughman was
born one night after discussing the Krispy Kreme Challenge. We
thought it would be great to do something similar in Durham to showcase local
restaurants and some of the other things that make Durham unique. Better yet,
we figured we could do this to benefit a local charity. 100% of the proceeds from the race go to charity.
The race is a team event
that something of a mix between competitive eating and racing and will take place May 24th, 2008. Stay tuned for more details on portions and route information.
Most importantly,
the race is supposed to be fun!
The race is over. Thanks everyone for coming out and having a great time. Results are below and we're putting together a photo gallery soon.
